Yushima Tenmangu Shrine is popular as one of the most popular power spots in Tokyo, as it has two blessings: “victory and strong fortune” by Rikio no Mikoto, and “achievement in studies” by Michizane Sugawara. It has also been known as a famous spot for plum blossoms since the Edo period, and the “Plum Festival”, one of the “Bunkyo Flower Festivals”, is held every year around early February when the plum blossoms are in full bloom.
