With the meaning of “opening luck and removing disasters,” this shrine is deeply enshrined for good luck, fortune, revival of luck, warding off evil spirits, family safety, good health, and traffic safety.

In addition, Kasuga no Tsubone, the wet nurse of Tokugawa Iemitsu (Takechiyo), the third Tokugawa Shogun, was heartbroken over Takechiyo’s poor health and the issue of succession. She prayed at this shrine for Takechiyo’s health and success, and her wishes were granted. Due to this story, it is also a shrine for “child-rearing wishes” and is highly effective for prayers related to children (Hatsumiya, Shichi-Go-San, academic achievement, safe delivery, and childbirth).
