    Takahata Fudoson Kongoji is a Shingon-shu Chizan-ha Buddhist temple located in Hino City, Tokyo. It is known as one of the three major Fudo temples in the Kanto region.

    The temple has many valuable cultural assets and temple treasures, including the “Joroku Fudo Sanzon” (a statue of Fudo Myoo and two attendants) that weighs over 1100 kg, and the “Niomon” gate built in the Muromachi period. It is also famous as the family temple of Toshizo Hijikata, the vice-commander of the Shinsengumi.

    The temple is believed to provide blessings for household safety, business prosperity, physical safety, warding off evil, and eliminating disasters. It is also known as the head temple for traffic safety prayers.

  • Ana Hachimangu Shrine

    It is said that the shrine was founded in 1062 when Minamoto no Yoshiie enshrined the Hachiman deity.

    In 1641, a side hole was found while cutting open the foot of a mountain, and a gilt-bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha appeared from inside, which is why it came to be called Ana Hachimangu.

    The enshrined deities are Emperor Ojin (Hondawake no Mikoto), Emperor Chuai (Tarashinakatsuhiko no Mikoto), and Empress Jingu (Okinagatarashihime no Mikoto).

    Sakura Jingu  is one of the few shrines in Japan that performs Shinto rituals such as fire walking and pot ringing.

    The enshrined deities include Amaterasu Omikami, the sun goddess who rules Takamagahara, and other gods from Japanese mythology, and their blessings are diverse.

    The general bowing procedure is two bows, two claps, and one bow, but at Sakura Jingu, it is two bows, four claps, and one bow.
