In the garden of Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, the early-blooming Kawazu cherry blossoms herald the arrival of spring in February, followed by the gorgeous Shuzenji Kanzakura, the lovely Okamezakura, and the large-flowered Yokozakura blooming one after another in March.
Furthermore, for about two months, from late March to early April when Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms are in full bloom, until mid-April when Yaebenishidarezakura (double-flowered weeping cherry blossoms) beautifully color the garden, approximately 100 cherry trees of about 20 varieties adorn the garden.
At night, the “Night Cherry Blossom Sea of Clouds” is also held, a collaboration between the garden’s production “Tokyo Sea of Clouds” and the cherry blossoms.

The three-story pagoda, which stands tall as if watching over the garden, was relocated to Chinzanso from Chikurin-ji Temple in Takemoto, Higashihiroshima City, in 1925, and will celebrate its 100th anniversary of relocation in 2025.
From the original location of the three-story pagoda at Chikurin-ji Temple in Takemoto, a natural sea of clouds can also be viewed.
This is a historical landscape where Ono no Takamura, a Heian period official and poet associated with Chikurin-ji Temple in Takemoto, is said to have viewed the townscape from the three-story pagoda and composed the poem, “Until the scattered peaks looked like islands, the village of Takemoto was a sea of fog.”
Please note that the garden is only available for use by hotel guests.
